At Emergent Realms, we love stories in all forms, and we don’t want to limit ourselves to just bringing you stories on paper. To that end, we’ve partnered with Legacy Books to bring you many of the audiobooks from another epic fantasy universe: Underrealm.
Garrett Robinson’s Underrealm is Legacy Books’s epic fantasy universe. It currently spans 12 novels in 4 different, yet interconnected series and is ever-expanding. But I recommend that your journey begin with The Nightblade Epic.

Yes. That’s 3 audiobooks for the price of 1 audible credit.
The first installment, Nightblade, follows the adventures of Loren, a mistreated and abused teen on the cusp of adulthood who decides that enough is enough and takes her shot at roughing it in the world outside her small village. But the nine lands are dangerous, and Loren is inexperienced. Armed only with her wits and the mysterious dagger she stole from her father, Loren fights for survival.
Mystic continues where Nightblade left off. Now escaped from the perils of the city, Loren continues her journey to become a famous thief of legend—the Nightblade. But war is brewing in the nine lands, and a conflict to span the ages has risen once again. Together with her companions, Gem and Annis, Loren continues her flight from her enemies on her way to make a fortune if she can find a buyer for her precious cargo.
Darkfire is the 3rd installment of the Nightblade saga. Like Mystic before it, it picks right up from where the last book ended and dives deeper into the lore of the world. After the climactic events of the previous volume, Loren and her party are pursued by not only the Yerrin crime lords but now by the Mystic order after Xain openly commits the high crime of dark fire. Loren’s bridges are rapidly burning, and she’s now being squeezed from all sides. But in spite of all that, she and Jordel must still warn the Mystics at the high seat of the coming calamity.
If you’re looking for a story with a Salvatore, Weis & Hickman, or Goodkind tone—a story that feels a lot like the stories you grew up reading but also has many benefits and improvements of the contemporary era of epic fantasy storytelling—I recommend you give this series a try.
